Methodology

Deterministic by design.

No maturity scores. No consultant interpretation. The same inputs produce the same findings on every run.

A fixed-scope diagnostic

CLEARANCE runs a single engagement against a fixed library of governance gaps. There's no ongoing relationship, no maturity score, and no consultant applying their own judgement to your answers. Give it the same answers twice, on two different days, and you get the same findings back. That's not a modest claim. It's the whole point.

The gap library

The library currently covers nine sector verticals across twelve sector and country combinations: Healthcare UK and US, Financial Services UK and US, Legal, Recruitment and HR, General Commercial, Retail, and Insurance. Every gap in the library is written against a named obligation: a specific regulatory regime, principle, or statute. Not a general best-practice suggestion. A rule you can point to.

A gap only earns a place in the library if it's provable from an organisation's own governance documents, with no incident required. That's deliberate. CLEARANCE exists to find the gap before someone else does: a regulator, an insurer, or a claimant's lawyer.

Why deterministic, not scored

Most governance tools give you a maturity score or a traffic-light rating. That sounds useful until you ask what it's built from: a specific, checkable fact, compressed into a number that reads differently depending on who's looking at it. CLEARANCE doesn't do that. Every finding states the gap, names the regulatory obligation it maps to, describes the moment it becomes visible, and gives you the action that closes it. Two organisations with identical answers get identical findings. Nobody's opinion sits between what you told us and what the report says.

The intake

The assessment takes about ten minutes. It asks structured questions about your AI deployment: what decisions the system makes or influences, who's accountable for it, what oversight exists, and how data moves through it. You don't need a technical background to answer them, just a clear picture of how the system actually works.

The report

Your report is a four-section PDF delivered to your inbox within minutes of payment:

The report is built to be handed to a board, an insurer, or a regulator without further explanation.

What CLEARANCE does not do

CLEARANCE doesn't build or fix your AI systems. It doesn't give legal advice. It doesn't offer a retainer or an ongoing relationship. One engagement. One report. One outcome: evidence of where your governance stands today.
