About

Built to prove you are in control of your AI systems.

CLEARANCE exists because most organisations deploying AI cannot yet answer the question a regulator or insurer will ask.

What CLEARANCE is

CLEARANCE is a deterministic AI governance diagnostic. It is built for organisations in regulated sectors that are deploying AI systems to make, or influence, consequential decisions about people.

The diagnostic takes a structured intake about your AI deployment and runs it against a fixed library of governance gaps. Each gap is mapped to a named regulatory obligation. The output is a report built to be handed to a board, an insurer, or a regulator without further explanation.

Why it exists

Organisations are deploying agentic AI systems that make consequential decisions with no named accountable individual, no meaningful human oversight, and no audit trail an external party can verify. This is not a hypothetical risk. It is the current, ordinary state of AI deployment inside most regulated organisations today.

Regulators are already treating this as within scope of existing law. The FCA has confirmed that SM&CR, Consumer Duty, and its Principles for Business already govern AI-influenced decisions. The ICO's AI enforcement strategy names automated decision-making as a primary focus, and its own engagement work has found that most organisations do not recognise they are making solely automated decisions, and are doing so without the required safeguards.

CLEARANCE exists to close that gap before a regulator, an insurer, or a claimant finds it first.

Who built it

CLEARANCE was built by John Akinmade, a systems analyst who spent over two decades working on how organisations document the way their systems are supposed to work, and what happens when documentation and reality diverge.

Applying that same structural question to agentic AI uncovered the same problem at a larger scale: systems making consequential decisions with no named owner, no meaningful oversight, and no evidence trail that would hold up under scrutiny. CLEARANCE is the diagnostic built to answer that question directly.
